I'm New, Hello!

I might be overtired, but I couldn't find a thread specifically for introductions, so I'll just post it here.

Hi, the name is matt(snikad) attending from Northern Ontario, Canada. I am new to this Forex thing. A couple of years ago I thought about getting into forex, but found it difficult to find information for the noob and I must say I am glad to have found this place.

I have started by diving into the education section here and the school at babypips.com, I'm at the part of the education section where it goes though all the candlestick signals and boy its a lot to memorise!

I am at the part where it tells me to open demo accounts and demo trade, well at least learn how the platform works, but I don't know where to begin. Can anyone recommend a good online broker to use/learn from. If anybody can recommend Canadian/Ontario brokers even better.

Any suggestions on my next steps would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Matt

Also Nick, I don't know why you offer all this but I'm glad you do, it is always great to find a friendly honest online community.

Hi, snikad. Welcome to the forum.

BabyPips and now forex4noobs. You don't realize it yet but you're getting off to a great start on your forex journey. Read as much as you can and study closely Nick's trading techniques. Don't get distracted by all the fancy shmancy "systems" and flashy indicators you'll see on the various 4x websites out there. Price action rules. It requires more effort but it's like any worthwhile skill. Master the basics and you'll be a stronger trader in the long run.

There are a million brokers to choose from. Keep looking around a bit and you'll see what the consensus around here is. You'll eventually come to realize your choice of broker will be determined by only a handful of criteria. Among them being platform, minimum deposit, deal desk vs. ECN, standard, mini, or micro account, and a few others. Trust me, you'll learn all that stuff in very short order.

Good luck and good trading!

Well the truth is I steal peoples souls, every time you log onto this forum you lose a piece of your soul and I get it. When I have a complete soul I sell it on the black market for $1,000,000........... muhahahaha!

Anyway I am not sure about Candian brokers but I still say my preferred platform is GFT Forex. However you can go with the masses and try out any MT4 platform. I am sure a Canadian broker with an MT4 platform exists.

What you can do!

Go to the reviews section and look for Canada on the list.

Easiest way would be to go to our NEW (actually not yet released) broker guide

http://www.forex4noobs.com/products.php

In there it has country selection........ select Canada and press apply filter...

YES I know the page is out of line, it is not full complete but it should give you a few brokers to choose from.

Also if you do go with GFT be tough with there sales people. Say "NO I just want to try before I open an account if I want to open I will call you" they are ruthless do not be talked into opening an account if you are not yet ready.
