Parcheesi! We call it Ludo (I think) and it's been many years.
I've been on ebay and got me a set on the way. My girl will love it. I got 87 on the 2's & 3's, the base gun moved up coz I got hit. At that point I figured it best to quit before I lost precious hours from my life.

When you get one of those big ones alternate hitting 2 and 3 as fast as you can. You can shoot much faster than just hitting 2 or just hitting 3, and it drives the number down. When you get it down it gets slower and then you can adjust to make sure you get it to zero.

I am not that good at it, I try to strategize too much and lose sight of what the game is actually about. You can build a protective dome of gray numbers if you shoot it right, so whenever you break the numbers they do not stack up under you they just build up on the dome. The problem is in building the dome I often get hit by numbers and that pushes me up anyway.
